Monday, is Morah's turn to open up a "Surprise Box" full of interesting things that
begin with the letter of the week!!!
Igor and Ivan the twin Iguanas have joined us for circle time.
We tried figuring out the letter of the week, it was easy!!!
We build it out of all kinds of sticks even big blocks.
We talked about ice skating, ice, igloos, icebergs, ices, and of course ice cream.
Our weather helper of the week was Rina,
thank you for a fantastic job,
well done!!!
We used our strong fingers to "finger write" the letter "I"
We carefully listned to instructions, rewieved letter structure,
and had fun with colors.
Next time we met in circle, we talked about letter I of course,
and the properties of Ice. We identified the differences between solids and liquids;
for example: liquids can pour, while solids can not. We also discussed that some liquids can harden in cold temperatures or places like the North Pole.
To bring our learning to life, we touched a huge rock of ice with our warm hands, melting it and turning it to liquid, and visa verse, we placed liquid such as orange juice and grape juice in a cold place such as a freezer, and turned it to ice!!! Whoa la, children were flabbergasted!!!
We followed Morah Dina up the steirs and to the freezers in the Kitchen.
Cold air blew out when we opened one of freezer's doors.
Our Weekend News is always a big hit!!!
