Happy Sukkos to all!!! We have been so busy lately learning about the Holidays of Succos!! We had a Succos Discovery Table with items related to Sukkos. The Yeladim got a chance to explore and see all the different things. We learnt that we sit in a Sukka on Sukkos as a remembrance to the miracle which Hashem did for the Jews while they were in the desert by protecting them with clouds. So too, we sit in a Sukka which is like our protection. We painted our very own Sukka for our classroom and used it to put 'people' and tables inside. We went to see the big Sukka outside and even got to eat lunch there. We visited the Nursery class who invited us to see and explore their real big Sukka they made in their classroom. We talked about the Lulav and Esrog we put together and shake on Sukkos. This symbolizes unity amongst the Jews. We each made our very own Lulav and Esrog to take home with us. We also made Esrogim out of Playdough. As the Holiday of Simchas Torah is approaching next, we talked about how special our Torah is. We learnt that on Simchas Torah we complete the reading of the Torah and we start anew right after. We dance with the Torah and flags on Simchas Torah to show how happy we are to have the special Torah from Hashem. Enjoy the rest of your Holiday!!
